Our litigation team has handled complex cases from beginning to end in matters such as contract disputes, constitutional and civil rights issues, labor and employment issues, corporate derivate suits, antitrust actions, unfair business practices, insurance disputes, medical malpractice, products liability, corporate civil claims under the RICO Act, regulated market issues, media and advertising issues, environmental claims, and bankruptcy, among others. We also handle specialized litigation at the state and federal courts in cases under the Puerto Rico Dealer’s Act and the Puerto Rico Sales Representative’s Act, (Act 75 and Act 21, respectively), while providing preventive counseling in these and other areas.
The Litigation Practice Group commonly handles cases before all the Commonwealth courts, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, including one of the biggest regulated market cases in said Circuit. It has also handled cases at the U.S. Supreme Court, and has handled multidistrict litigation in several federal courts outside Puerto Rico.
