Mr. Van Derdys obtained his B.A. degree in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, and his J.D. Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. His professional practice includes all phases of bankruptcy cases and related proceedings, from inception of the case to the entry of the final closing decree. He also litigates in the area of commercial and corporate law, title insurance law, administrative agencies, and handles disputes before the American Arbitration Association. He was a former supervisor of the Bankruptcy Unit at the Federal Litigation Division of the Department of Justice of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico before entering the private practice; drafted and corrected bar exam questions for the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, and served at the Puerto Rico Bar Association Legislative Commission.
Mr. Van Derdys, Special Counsel to the firm, is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association.
