Mr. Rodríguez-Rivera is a member of the Litigation Department and of its Employment Practice Group. His areas of practice include complex civil and commercial litigation, e-discovery and employment law compliance. Mr. Joshua Rodríguez-Rivera obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus (Magna Cum Laude), with a Major in Labor Relations and a minor in Human Resources Management. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law (Magna Cum Laude).
While in law school, Mr. Rodríguez-Rivera was an academic research assistant and collaborated with the Puerto Rican Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation’s Commercial Committee. He was also a member of the Civil Litigation Clinic of Legal Aid, and served as Associate Editor, and later Senior Editor in the University of Puerto Rico, Law Review. He also spent a summer as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Puerto Rico Court of First Instance, Carolina.
Mr. Rodríguez-Rivera published an article in the school’s Law Review on how the approval of the Labor Transformation and Flexibility Act of 2017 has displaced the Puerto Rico Civil Code (1930) provisions pertaining to labor contracts and contracts in general. Mr. Rodríguez is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and is a notary public.
